Job summary

Amazon Leo is hiring a Sr. Broadband Phased Array Antenna Architect to join the Payload Architecture team in San Diego. You’ll shape the Ka-band multi-beam payload, bridging RF front-end and digital beamforming with FPGA/ASIC platforms and high‑speed interconnects.

In this hands-on role you will define requirements, drive tests, collaborate across systems, HW, silicon, and calibration teams, and contribute to future satellite generations while supporting production and on-orbit debug.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years in Ka-band RF system design or digital phased array design.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, C++, and RF measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Translate throughput and coverage requirements into broadband payload specs.
• Propose and own broadband phased array architecture across signal chain.
• Collaborate with systems, HW design, silicon, and calibration teams.
• Contribute to customer link performance and end-to-end link budgets.
• Define phased array requirements from system-level needs to components.
• Develop test plans and verify requirements with the verification team.
• Define signal integrity requirements for high-speed SerDes links.
• Support Ka-band RF front-end trade studies across process tech.
• Drive capacity mode management and scalability for beams.
• Support production and on-orbit debug; hands-on role.
