Job summary

Paylocity seeks a highly technical Resident Network Engineer in Charlotte, NC, to provide post-sales support for large-scale Juniper environments. You will troubleshoot, optimize, and automate networks, collaborating with engineering and operations to ensure high availability and modernization.

The role requires extensive Juniper experience, strong scripting in Python, and the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and leadership audiences in a fast-paced, customer-facing setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, deploying, and supporting large-scale service provider or MSO networks.
• Deep hands-on experience with JUNOS CLI and Juniper platforms.
• Experience with service provider networking concepts and automation with Python.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical skills, and customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for production and pre-production network environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, routing, switching, and provider network issues.
• Drive Juniper JTAC cases through resolution including RCA and corrective actions.
• Support incidents, outages, escalations, maintenance, migrations, and changes.
• Collaborate to understand current architecture and future requirements.
• Guide network design, capacity planning, technology adoption, and modernization.
• Develop and maintain automation using Python and Juniper PyEZ.
• Train teams on Juniper configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operations.
• Develop SOPs and MOPs to identify risks and improve operations.
• Lead workshops and communicate complex issues to leadership and teams.
