Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Network Engineer to lead Juniper migration projects from planning through execution in a hybrid Charlotte environment. You will analyze current configurations, design migration strategies, and develop detailed procedures to minimize risk during production changes.

The role requires hands-on Juniper experience (MX/ACX/QFX), strong routing knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams. Remote eligibility is available for this contract position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of network engineering experience in service provider environments.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper MX/ACX/QFX platforms.
• Strong routing and switching knowledge (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS/MPLS/VLANs).
• Experience planning and executing migrations and hardware refreshes.
• Ability to create and execute MOPs and production change procedures.
• Able to manage multiple migrations and meet timelines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing router/switch configurations and plan migrations.
• Create MOPs and implementation docs.
• Develop replacement configurations for new platforms.
• Execute migrations, cutovers during maintenance windows.
• Support EOS/EOL refresh initiatives.
• Coordinate with engineering, field techs, and third parties.
• Troubleshoot production routing/switching issues.
• Lead multiple migration projects concurrently.
• Participate in reviews and change management.
