Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Networking team in an onsite role in New Jersey. You will work closely with customers, providing expert design, testing, and optimization of Juniper-based networks, including QFX, PTX, and EX platforms.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in data center routing and switching, JNCIP-level proficiency, and strong Python scripting for test automation. Up to 10% travel to customer sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6+ years’ experience in data center routing, switching, and network architecture.
• JNCIP-level proficiency and hands-on with HPE Juniper products (QFX/PTX/EX).
• Proven ability to develop test automation and write Python scripts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for HPE products in service provider networking; support design, testing, and documentation.
• Provide primary technical support for break/fix activities to restore services quickly.
• Advise on Junos configurations and network design best practices.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with internal and partner teams.
• Review designs for compliance with tech standards and provide feedback.
