Job summary

Brixmor, a leader in real estate, seeks a Senior Joint Venture Accountant to manage day-to-day JV accounting and monthly closes under U.S. GAAP. You will prepare financial and partner reporting, coordinate with auditors, and support debt and equity activities.

You will interact with JV partners, property managers, and internal teams, ensuring accurate financial data, timely reports, and adherence to joint venture agreements, with a hybrid work schedule and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, with public accounting, real estate, joint venture, or corporate accounting preferred.
• Experience with joint venture accounting, real estate accounting, or investment accounting preferred.
• Experience with SEC reporting requirements and public company financial reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and monthly close for joint ventures per U.S. GAAP.
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting, including 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K filings.
• Assist with debt and equity accounting, reconciliations, and covenants.
• Serve as primary accounting contact for JV partners and service providers.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly JV financial statements and reporting packages.
• Account for partner contributions, distributions, ownership, intercompany activity, and financing.
• Support consolidation, elimination entries, and noncontrolling interests.
• Monitor JV agreement compliance and maintain supporting documentation.
• Conduct accounting research and memo prep for acquisitions, financings, etc.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and resolve inquiries.
• Identify process improvements through automation and analytics.
• Assist Manager, Corporate Accounting & Reporting with special projects.
