Job summary

Serco is seeking a Principal Military Trainer - Senior Operations Exercise Planner to support Joint Staff J-7 in Suffolk, VA. The role focuses on planning, evaluating, and executing joint and combined military exercises to enhance operational readiness.

An active U.S. DoW Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI is required. On-site work in Suffolk, VA, with travel up to 25% and the ability to collaborate with senior military and civilian leaders are essential.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active DoW Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years joint operational experience or Master’s with 6+ years.
• Minimum 3 years on a 3- or 4-star Joint/Service HQ staff or civilian equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of joint operations planning and execution.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a functional expert for planning and preparing joint and combined exercises.
• Provide consulting to defense clients on training and joint doctrine.
• Design and plan exercises with stakeholders including audience reps and liaison officers.
• Deliver exercise products (SCENARIO, RTC, CONOP, OE Overview).
• Coordinate suspense dates and participate in planning conferences and reviews.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and exercise teams during global events.
