Job summary

Serco seeks a Principal Military Trainer – Senior Operations Exercise Planner to support Joint Staff CJT in Suffolk, VA. You will plan and execute joint exercises, deliver key exercise products, and coordinate with senior military leaders to enhance operational readiness.

An active DoW Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility is required, along with a BS/BA (or MS) and extensive joint staff experience. Travel up to 25% and on-site work in Suffolk, VA are expected.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active DoW Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of joint operational experience or Master’s with 6+ years.
• Minimum 3 years on 3-star/4-star Joint or Service HQ staff or civilian equivalent.
• Knowledge of deploying and employing joint forces and joint operations planning at operational level.
• Familiarity with JELC, UJTL, and MSEL processes.
• Intermediate Service School graduate.
• U.S. Passport validity.
• On-site work in Suffolk, VA; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a functional expert for planning, conceptualizing, and preparing joint and combined military exercises.
• Provide consulting to military/defense clients in training development and evaluation.
• Design and plan exercises with stakeholders and other planners.
• Deliver exercise products: Scenario, RTC, CONOP, OE Overview.
• Coordinate and adjust suspense dates per development needs.
• Participate in Global Integration initiatives and attend planning conferences and reviews.
• Act as a functional syndicate cell member during execution of joint training events globally.
