Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Tampa, Florida, is seeking a senior Java Developer/SQL Lead to establish and implement new systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. You will lead hands-on development and collaborate with global teams and stakeholders to drive platform re-engineering and delivery.

The role requires 6–10 years of experience in applications development, strong Java/Spring/SQL skills, and leadership capabilities. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role.
• Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications.
• Very strong JAVA/Spring/SQL hands-on experience on a distributed platform.
• Strong experience in Kafka/messaging.
• Experience with caching products such as Gemfire or Redis.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure integration of functions to meet goals and define necessary system enhancements.
• Resolve high-impact problems through evaluation of complex business and system processes.
• Provide expertise in applications programming and ensure design adheres to architecture blueprint.
• Use advanced system flow knowledge and develop coding, testing, and implementation standards.
• Develop knowledge of how areas like architecture and infrastructure integrate to achieve business goals.
• Provide in-depth analysis to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as needed.
• Assess risk in business decisions and ensure compliance with laws and Citi policies.
