Job summary

Quantum Technologies LLC is seeking a seasoned Java Application Support Engineer to provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise Java applications. You will monitor health, troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis and support releases to ensure high availability and performance of critical systems.

The role requires strong Java expertise, incident management, and collaboration with Dev, Infra, DBA, Cloud and Business teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot and Microservices.
• Experience supporting RESTful APIs and distributed applications.
• Strong understanding of JVM, GC, thread management and performance tuning.
• Hands-on with Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL/MySQL and strong SQL skills.
• Linux/Unix environment experience and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of Tomcat/JBoss/WebSphere application servers.
• Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka/JMS/MQ).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab).
• Cloud familiarity (AWS/Azure/GCP) preferred.
• Experience with monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, New Relic).
• ITIL incident/change/problem management familiarity.
• Ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy).
• Ability to coordinate major incidents and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Java-based enterprise applications and APIs.
• Monitor performance, availability and system health using observability tools.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents within SLA timelines.
• Analyze logs, thread dumps, heap dumps and metrics to diagnose issues.
• Perform RCA and implement preventive measures to reduce incidents.
• Support deployments, releases, environment management and post-release validation.
• Troubleshoot REST APIs, microservices, middleware, and batch processing failures.
• Execute SQL queries for data analysis and investigation.
• Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, DBA, Cloud and Business teams for resolution.
• Participate in on-call support rotation for critical production issues.
• Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks and operational procedures.
• Support ITIL processes including incident, problem and change management.
