Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Java Software Engineer to design and develop geospatially enabled microservices and APIs on a modern stack. You will work on cloud-native architectures, containerized services, and automated CI/CD to support mission-critical enterprise capabilities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with product managers, cross-functional teams, and mentorship of junior engineers, with telework options and flexible schedules to drive fast, informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• 14 years' experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Four (4) years of additional experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• In-depth knowledge of Java and associated frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate).
• Experience with cloud-based development and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java microservices with geospatial functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Lead technical design and implementation of geospatial features aligned with architecture and mission objectives.
• Work with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical expertise.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members to ensure high-quality code and best practices.
