Freedom Technology Solutions Group in Annapolis Junction is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to contribute to geospatial enterprise programs. You will develop Java-based microservices, containerized for scalable analytics, and support real-time data pipelines and visualizations for mission-driven applications.

The role emphasizes cloud-native design, API integration, and familiarity with geospatial tools. A CS degree and strong problem-solving ability are essential.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Bachelor's or higher in CS/Software Eng; 4 years additional experience may substitute.
• Understanding of Java programming language.
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and design principles.
• Relational and NoSQL databases knowledge.
• Effective communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new tech quickly.
• Familiarity with geospatial tools (GDAL, GeoTools) or interest in geospatial tech.
• Foundational cloud knowledge (AWS) and cloud-native development concepts.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Agile/Scrum, story pointing, and sprint delivery.
