Citi in Tampa, FL seeks a Java Microservices Developer – AVP to lead the design and delivery of mission-critical back-end services powering global payments. Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Java software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Java 17/21, concurrency, Virtual Threads, memory management, and JVM tuning.
• Design, development, and operation of production-grade microservices with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with API Gateway, SAGA, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Transactional Outbox, Circuit Breaker, and Service Discovery.
• Experience with AI-assisted developer tools (GitHub Copilot, Devin) and AI-PDLC practices.
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift; Git, CI/CD; Agile.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build high-throughput, low-latency Java microservices for 24x7 real-time transaction processing with zero data loss.
• Champion and institutionalize AI-Assisted Product Development Lifecycle (AI-PDLC) across squads using AI tools.
• Construct cloud-native services with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud and implement service discovery, tracing, and robust security.
• Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and ensure security posture across multiple squads.
• Guide deployment on Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift and support zero-downtime CI/CD pipelines.
