Job summary

Citi is in search of a Senior Java Engineer to join its Technology team in Pune on a hybrid schedule. You will design, build, and deliver Java microservices and cloud-native solutions that power critical business operations across the software delivery lifecycle.

You'll work with Spring Boot, MongoDB, Kafka, Docker, and OpenShift, mentor junior engineers, and help ensure security, reliability, and performance in production environments.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong Java 8+ production experience building microservices.
• Proficient with Spring/Spring Boot for backend services.
• Experience with MongoDB NoSQL design and integration.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate Kafka or MQ messaging in high-volume systems.
• Familiar with cloud and containerization (Docker/OpenShift).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver Java-based microservices across the full SDLC.
• Architect scalable solutions using Java 8+, Spring Boot, and MongoDB.
• Integrate messaging systems like Kafka or MQ for real-time data processing.
• Deploy and manage containerized apps with Docker/OpenShift in cloud environments.
• Lead technical analysis and propose effective engineering solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure security and compliance.
