Job summary

Virtusa seeks a Senior Lead Engineer to drive end-to-end design and delivery of scalable enterprise apps using Java and React in a cloud-native environment.

You will mentor engineers, own architectural decisions, and collaborate with product, design, QA, and infra to align technical strategy with business goals.

This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, modern DevOps practices, and leveraging agentic AI tools to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience building enterprise-grade apps with Java and React.js.
• Strong understanding of React fundamentals including Hooks and Context API.
• Back-end architecture knowledge: microservices, REST APIs, integration patterns.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization/orchestration.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools and release automation (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, and team motivation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment.
• Experience using agentic AI tools (e.g., Devin AI) for development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of large-scale applications using Java and React.js.
• Provide technical leadership across the full SDLC from requirements to deployment and monitoring.
• Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance systems aligned with business goals.
• Mentor engineers and foster continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and infra to define requirements.
• Drive CI/CD, cloud architecture, and DevOps best practices.
• Oversee code and design reviews and engineering process improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with root-cause analysis and durable fixes.
• Contribute to long-term technical strategy and roadmaps.
• Apply agentic AI tools to accelerate development.
