Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and operate Java and Kotlin services for a large-scale IT Operations platform. You will tackle reliability, performance, and scalability challenges in a cloud environment and collaborate with peers to ship high-quality software.

You’ll work on a global service that administers millions of endpoints, applying best practices in API design, databases, and distributed systems. A hybrid work arrangement in the USA is available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java development for product applications.
• 4+ years building highly scalable software systems.
• Experience with production reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Knowledge of API best practices and REST service development.
• Relational database design and development experience.
• Experience with asynchronous application design and client-server communication.
• Experience troubleshooting production systems and incident response.
• Strong testing practices for production reliability.
• Redis caching experience is a plus.
• Python experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve Java and Kotlin services for large-scale production use.
• Own reliability in production and investigate performance issues.
• Improve system scalability by identifying bottlenecks and implementing design changes.
• Enhance operability by increasing service health visibility and monitoring.
• Contribute to design decisions, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production troubleshooting.
• Perform other duties as needed.
