Job summary
MO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs, modernizing eligibility and enrollment systems for millions of Veterans, families, and caregivers. You will design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications, work with Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST and SOAP services, and collaborate with architects to modernize legacy platforms.
This remote, US-based role requires a BS in CS or related field, 5–8 years of experience, and strong skills in
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/SE/IS.
- 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
- Hands-on Java development with Spring Framework or Spring Boot.
- Experience building REST APIs and web services.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
- Analyze and resolve defects and production issues.
- Support modernization and sustainment of VA applications.
- Collaborate with architects and senior developers on initiatives.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integration.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
- Contribute to automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
