Job summary

Sammons Financial Group is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to help migrate a mission-critical insurance platform from COBOL/VSAM to a modern Java architecture. You will design, develop, and mentor teammates in a hands-on role, contributing to solution design and implementation within Corporate Markets.

You'll work across Bank‑Owned Life Insurance, CUOLI, and Pension Risk Transfer initiatives, ensuring alignment with modernization goals and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• College degree in computer science or related field preferred.
• 8+ years IT development experience or equivalent preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communications with business partners and IT staff.
• Problem solving skills to research and propose solutions.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to coordinate work of other team members without HR management responsibility.
• Knowledge of programming languages as required for the system.
