Job summary
MetLife’s Global Technology team is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to modernize and decommission legacy mainframe systems while advancing AI-enabled engineering practices. You will collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable applications and support the Annuity & Life Insurance Next Evolution migration.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong mainframe development experience incl. COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems and application decommissioning.
- Experience with AI-assisted software engineering tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead modernization and decommissioning of legacy mainframe platforms.
- Create and maintain batch processes to support business functions.
- Oversee code reviews, automated testing, and production support.
- Drive platform currency, security activities, and tech debt reduction.
- Develop applications using mainframe languages and Copilot tooling.
- Coordinate with product owners, architects, analysts, operations, and partners.
