Job summary

Sammons Financial Group is seeking an experienced Java-focused software engineer to modernize legacy applications to cloud-native architectures and microservices. You will design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, APIs, and integrations using Java, Spring, Hibernate, and modern testing frameworks.

You will collaborate in a SAFe Agile environment, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and optimize data access with SQL databases while ensuring secure, well-documented code and high

Qualifications

• College Degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum 8 years' IT development experience or equivalent Preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills and the ability to communicate with business partners and other IT staff.
• Problem solving skills sufficient to perform research and propose solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the modernization of legacy Java applications to cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and the Spring Framework.
• Design, document, version and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices per OpenAPI standards.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and API tests (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber).
• Develop and optimize SQL queries; integrate Java apps with relational databases via JPA/Hibernate.
• Troubleshoot defects, performance issues, and production incidents with monitoring tools.
• Collaborate in a SAFe Agile cross-functional Scrum team and participate in ceremonies.
• Assist in CI/CD pipeline design, IaC, and release management.
