Job summary

Sammons Financial Group Companies is seeking a senior Java/Spring developer to modernize legacy applications and design cloud-native microservices. You will build RESTful APIs, integrate with relational databases, and participate in a SAFe Agile environment.

You will lead complex development tasks, mentor teammates, and help implement automated tests, CI/CD, and secure coding practices. On-call duties may include extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or MIS is preferred.
• 8+ years IT development experience or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior team members and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of legacy Java apps to cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Framework.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices with API-first design and OpenAPI standards.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries; integrate Java apps with Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL using JPA/Hibernate.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing; participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies.
