Job summary

Sammons Financial Group is seeking a senior software developer to modernize legacy Java applications to cloud-native architectures within a SAFe Agile environment. You will design, build, and test enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.

Responsibilities include developing event-driven integrations with Kafka, implementing automated tests, and optimizing SQL with ORM tools like JPA/Hibernate.

Qualifications

• College degree in computer science or MIS preferred.
• 8+ years IT development experience or equivalent preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to coordinate work of team members without HR management responsibility.
• Knowledge of programming languages required for the system.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of legacy Java apps to cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using OpenAPI.
• Develop event-driven integrations using Kafka.
• Implement automated unit/integration tests with JUnit/Mockito/Cucumber.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Optimize SQL and integrate Java with Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL via JPA/Hibernate.
• Troubleshoot performance, memory, and production incidents.
