Job summary

MO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to modernize VA eligibility and enrollment systems. You will design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications, collaborating with architects and senior developers on modernization initiatives. The role requires Java 17+ and Spring Boot experience, plus Oracle and REST API work.

We offer remote work with up to 10% travel, full benefits, and a salary range of $140,000 to $157,500 per year. This position remains open through Oct 13, 2026.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software development experience in a professional environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java development.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and/or Spring Boot.
• Experience developing REST APIs and web services.
• Experience with Oracle or other relational databases.
• Experience using Git-based source control.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues.
• Support enhancements and sustainment for applications using Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with architects and senior developers on modernization initiatives.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and deployments.
