Job summary

Priceline.com LLC is seeking a Java Engineer to join our backend team. This role operates in a hybrid model with two days in-office, contributing to core Java services and REST APIs that power high-volume searches and partner data processing.

You will work with Spring Frameworks, cloud platforms (GCP/AWS), and microservices in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on delivering scalable, low-latency solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering and development experience.
• Core Java or equivalent programming language experience.
• Strong SQL for data queries and analysis.
• Experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
• Server-side JavaScript and Node.js experience; Git/Gitflow familiarity.
• Experience with Microservices, Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP and AWS).
• Demonstrated alignment with Priceline values: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust.

Responsibilities

• Participate in critical projects with direct impact on Priceline's business.
• Join a cross-functional agile team delivering new product objectives.
• Showcase development skills in Core Java or similar languages.
• Build low latency, high throughput transactional services with CI and automated tests.
• Write SQL to collect and query data for real-time analysis.
• Understand codebase and systems to effectively modify applications.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively to propose best solutions.
