Job summary

Praia Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own end-to-end architectural ownership of its platform, focusing on high-performance Java backend services (80–90%) and supporting frontend integrations in JavaScript (10–20%).

You will work with engineering leadership to deliver secure, well-documented APIs for internal teams and health system partners, advocating for scalable distributed services and enterprise-grade integrations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and operating production software.
• Experience with Java and modern JVM frameworks (Quarkus/Spring Boot).
• Healthcare interoperability with EMR/EHR (FHIR/HL7).
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and scale Java backend services powering Praia's platform.
• Develop and maintain JavaScript components for frontend touchpoints (10–20%).
• Implement enterprise integration services for EMRs using HL7 FHIR APIs.
• Leverage Databricks/Apache Spark for data pipelines when needed (nice to have).
• Develop secure REST/event-driven APIs with OAuth2/OIDC and OpenAPI specs.
• Own CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, IaC, logging, and incident response.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and partner teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.
