Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a FMS/AMS specialist in District Six to oversee ITS/TSM&O operations and contractual services 24/7 from SunGuide TMC. You will coordinate with CEI teams, vendors, and FHWA to ensure system reliability and performance.

The role requires strong engineering judgment, contract administration experience, and the ability to analyze complex traffic data. Some responsibilities involve collaboration across districts and state levels within a dynamic public

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 4 years ITS/engineering or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major in engineering, computer science, ITS, or similar.
• Fundamentals of Engineering exam completion and EIT certification or IMSA/RCDD certifications are considered favorable.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages contracts supporting Traffic Operations (including RISC, TIM, and Road Ranger programs).
• Develops FMS/AMS projects, RFPs, specs and plans; identifies O/M resources.
• Reviews plans, provides technical comments based on traffic operations principles and standards.
• Supports development of the TSM&O program at district, regional and state levels.
• Performs data analysis and prepares traffic engineering reports and trend analyses.
