Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) seeks an experienced ITS Superintendent to lead ITS construction, maintenance, and operations on FDOT roadway projects across Florida. This field-based leadership role manages crews, schedules, safety, quality, and coordination with FDOT engineers and stakeholders.

You will oversee installation, testing, and maintenance of advanced transportation technologies, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in conformance with

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in ITS, traffic signal, or related infrastructure.
• Supervisory or superintendent experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FDOT ITS systems and standards.
• Experience with fiber optics, networking, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead ITS field crews, technicians, subcontractors and vendors.
• Plan and oversee day-to-day ITS construction/maintenance on FDOT projects.
• Ensure compliance with FDOT standards and contract requirements.
• Coordinate schedules, manpower, equipment, and logistics.
• Oversee installation, testing, and maintenance of ITS infrastructure.
• Mentor technicians and promote safety and operational excellence.
