Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an IT Systems Engineer 5 for the Security and Electronic Systems unit. You will design, engineer, integrate, operate, and maintain electronic security services for federal, local, and commercial customers, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric auth, and video surveillance.

You will interact with government stakeholders, architect resilient systems, document designs, and lead testing and deployment activities throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Education in engineering or related field; bachelor’s degree with 10+ years experience.
• Master’s degree desirable.
• 10+ years progressive experience in system solutions for physical security IT.
• Experience eliciting requirements, designing, testing and implementing hardware/software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with automation and optimization of engineering processes.
• Perform systems engineering assessments, upgrades, migrations, and new deployments; develop work breakdown structures.
• Research, prototype, and develop integrated system capabilities with industry partners and OEMs.
• Document operational, functional, and technical requirements; develop system architecture and design docs.
• Lead testing against established plans; review WBS and IMS; ensure technical integrity over lifecycle.
