Job summary

The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage central IT services across the Georgia Center and PSO-Cont Ed-Tech Support Svcs. The role oversees VMware Horizon, VDI, backups, and security across hybrid environments.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, lead infrastructure initiatives, and provide after-hours support as part of a team, ensuring high reliability and security of production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience administering enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex IT operations and infrastructure initiatives.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, endpoint management, Intune, patch management, and identity services.

Responsibilities

• Administration of virtual server and desktop environment, including storage and virtual networking provisioning.
• Server installation, configuration, patching, and upgrading; monitor availability and performance.
• Emergency troubleshooting and issue resolution; on-call 24x7 responsibilities.
• Network administration including firewall/router management and security controls.
• End user desktop support and documentation of standards and procedures.
• Develop and maintain technical standards, training materials, and project plans.
