Job summary

Tarrant County in Fort Worth is seeking an IT Support Technician to identify, analyze and solve PC-based problems, and to maintain and troubleshoot current PC configurations. You will work independently on routine tasks and assist the Senior Support Specialist with large installations.

The role includes handling Help Desk calls, providing on-site and remote support, configuring software/hardware, and ensuring secure user accounts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of one year experience in information services.
Driving may be required; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Accepts Help Desk calls from users and provides telephone and on-site technical support.
Analyzes and resolves PC user problems by telephone, remote connections, and on-site.
Manages network accounts and security for all county users and computers.
Uses system monitors to detect network/OS problems and advise IT staff.
Performs small scale wiring projects and equipment installations, relocations and removals.
Provides end-user training on software, hardware and Internet use; advises on purchases/upgrades.
Assists with installs of new software releases, system upgrades and patches.
Performs other related IT Department duties as assigned.
