Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the business unit’s IT Projects group, plan and direct multiple complex projects, and ensure alignment with time, budget and strategic goals.

You will develop and manage corporate systems architecture, oversee staffing decisions, and drive risk management and compliance programs while guiding a team of technical professionals.

Qualifications

• Requires a college or university degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• At least five years, typically seven or more years of diverse experience in multiple technology areas.
• At least three years supervising technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversees IT Projects groups, directing activities to meet business objectives.
• Leads multiple complex projects with project teams.
• Tracks progress against time, budget and results, adjusting plans.
• Manages corporate systems architecture for a major IT area.
• Determines staffing needs and handles salary administration.
• Develops strategy to meet business unit and corporate plans.
• Develops programs to support risk management and compliance.
• Accountable for performance management and diversity initiatives.
