Job summary

Austal USA, LLC is seeking a Manager of IT Infrastructure to oversee Systems, Database IT Infrastructure professionals, and Datacenter operations in Mobile, AL. You will guide daily operations, drive reliability, and collaborate with peers to design and implement environment improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proof of continued IT education preferred.
Experience with IT Infrastructure and Operations is preferred.
5–7 years of technology leadership experience required.
Microsoft, ITIL, or Service Professional certification.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Ability to lead full lifecycle of IT projects from requirements to hand-off.
Ability to collaborate with multiple teams/organizations.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong leadership with mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the IT Infrastructure team, including Systems and Database IT Infrastructure professionals.
Manages changes in priorities, funding, scope, and timing to align business expectations with IT plans and budgets.
Look 1-3 years ahead to anticipate long-term consequences and suggest investments, simplification opportunities, or strategic guidance.
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
Interact with IT leadership on project matters.
Select, develop, and evaluate staff to ensure efficient operation of the function.
Negotiate and manage vendor, consultant contracts and service agreements.
Identify innovative technical and process solutions to improve performance, cost, quality, and revenue.
Ensure adherence to corporate, industry, and international standards.
Set goals and expectations for Systems and Database support teams.
Manage physical data center equipment (HVAC, UPS, fire suppression, racks, servers, appliances).
Lead and develop lifecycle documentation; participate in Disaster Recovery; develop processes.
