Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Mobile, Alabama to design and mature enterprise-scale infrastructure across virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and cloud environments. You will lead projects, manage risk, and drive automation and security enhancements to ensure reliability and continuity.

The role requires deep experience with VMware/Nutanix, AWS, and infrastructure security, with on-site work in Mobile.

Qualifications

Experience designing and supporting enterprise virtualization environments (VMware and Nutanix).
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and influence stakeholders across multiple functions.
Strong understanding of infrastructure security, resilience, HA, DR, and business continuity.

Responsibilities

Design and architect enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions across virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and cloud environments.
Lead complex infrastructure projects from planning through implementation, including risk management and stakeholder engagement.
Provide expert-level troubleshooting and serve as the final escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents.
Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, technology roadmaps, and modernization strategies.
Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code to improve scalability and consistency.
Drive security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
Mentor infrastructure engineers and promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
