Job summary

Occidental Petroleum Corporation in The Woodlands, TX seeks an experienced IT Service Specialist II to provide advanced deskside and end-user support for hardware, software, peripherals, and printing. You will diagnose incidents, document them, and ensure effective communication with customers throughout the lifecycle.

You will work with IT teams to deploy new technologies, maintain documentation, and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in IT or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of IT experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Available for callouts as needed.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting across Windows, Office, IT infrastructure, WAN/LAN & Wireless, printing, scanning, AV.
• Oil & Gas industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to plan and prioritize daily tasks with good organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with Project Management.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced deskside and end-user technical support for hardware, OS, applications, peripherals, printing, and related workplace technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents and service requests with clear customer communication.
• Log, track, document, and manage incidents using IT service-management tools.
• Take ownership of technical issues through resolution or escalation as needed.
• Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support PCs, peripherals, software, printing devices, and related IT infrastructure.
• Develop technical documentation and knowledge articles; provide knowledge transfer to team.
• Participate in technology projects, deployments, testing, and post-deployment support.
