Job summary

ARUP Laboratories is seeking an Agile Team Lead to guide Scrum teams and product management, acting as the process owner to ensure high performance. The role involves removing impediments, coaching the Product Owner, and collaborating with stakeholders to groom the backlog.

You will facilitate Scrum events, promote transparency, and drive maturity across teams while staying current with Agile practices. Entry requires a background in CS and Scrum certification; pharmaceutical/lab domain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years’ work experience and two years leading Agile software teams OR six years work experience and two years leading Agile software teams
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or able to receive certification within 6 months of hire date
• Two years’ experience serving in a ScrumMaster or Product Owner role, working on more than one complex software development project
• Deep understanding of the basic principles of Scrum
• Experience organizing work and projects
• Experience with meeting facilitation, conflict resolution and training others
• Experience working with teams of various sizes, in different cultures, and with both collocated and dispersed teams
• Experience relating to technical and business roles at varying levels of the organization
• Experience with a variety of Agile concepts including release and sprint planning, stand up, burn-down, retrospectives
• Independent thinking

Responsibilities

• Guide development teams and product management on the use of agile practices; act as an agent of change to expand the use of Scrum throughout the organization
• Empower delivery teams to be self-organized; guide team to work toward measurable goals
• Facilitate collaborative, cross-functional communication, improving transparency and radiating project information and metrics
• Assess the scrum maturity of the team and organization; coach the team to higher levels of maturity
• Remove impediments; understand the difference between internal and organizational impediments and how to manage each effectively
• Build a trusting/safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem solving
• Support and educate the Product Owner, with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
• Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible; lead by example
• Participate in the Scrum of Scrums with the other SM’s to coordinate interdependencies and implement best practices
• Stay current on industry and Agile best practices
• Other duties as assigned.
