ARUP Laboratories is seeking an Agile Team Lead to guide Scrum teams and product management, acting as the process owner to ensure high performance. The role involves removing impediments, coaching the Product Owner, and collaborating with stakeholders to groom the backlog.

Primary Purpose :
The Agile Team Lead is responsible for making sure Scrum teams live by the values and practices of Scrum, and for acting as the process owner for the team, creating a balance with the Product Owner. As an Agile Team Lead, you will do whatever possible to help the team perform at their highest level. This involves removing impediments to progress, facilitating meetings, and working closely with the product owner to make sure the product backlog is properly groomed.

Essential Functions :
Guide development teams and product management on the use of agile practices; act as an agent of change to expand the use of Scrum throughout the organization
Empower delivery teams to be self-organized guide team to work toward measurable goals
Facilitate collaborative, cross-functional communication, improving transparency and radiating project information and metrics
Assess the scrum maturity of the team and organization; coach the team to higher levels of maturity
Remove impediments; understand the difference between internal and organizational impediments and how to manage each effectively
Build a trusting/safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem solving
Support and educate the Product Owner, with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible; lead by example
Participate in the Scrum of Scrums with the other SM’s to coordinate interdependencies and implement best practices
Stay current on industry and Agile best practices

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.
Bachelor's Degree or better in Computer Science or related field.
Bachelor’s degree and two years’ work experience and two years leading Agile software teamsOr six years work experience and two years leading Agile software teams
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or able to receive certification within 6 months of hire date
Two years’ experience serving ina ScrumMaster or Product Owner role, working on more than one complex, software development project
Demonstrated and broadly recognizable deep understanding of the basic principles of Scrum
Demonstrated work experience organizing work and or projects
Demonstrated work experience with meeting facilitation, conflict resolution and training others
Demonstrated work experience working on teams of various sizes, in different cultures, and with both collocated and dispersed teams
Demonstrated work experience relating to technical and business roles at varying levels of the organization
Demonstrated work experience with a variety of Agile concepts, including release and sprint planning, stand up, burn-down, retrospectives
Demonstrated work experience showing independent thinking
Understanding of organizational structure and best practices of enterprise frameworks (e.g. ITIL, COBIT)
Experience with diagramming (e.g. UML, OBASHI)
Extensive experience facilitating effective meetings
Scrum, Kanban, or Lean Six Sigma certifications
Two years of experience as an Agile Project Manageer or Agile Product Owner within software development.
Two years of experience configuring Jira and Confluence as a Site or Org Admin level for 300+ employees across multiple divisions.
Second level Scrum certification
Project Management certification (PMP) or equivalent
2 years’ experience mentoring others
Experience with establishing Agile practices in an organization
Familiar with Servant Leadership
Experience in most Advanced Agile Concepts (User Stories, TDD, Continuous integration, Continuous testing, pairing, automated testing)
2 years’ experience with systems analysis
Experience working with hybrid teams (agile projects/teams interacting or working with non-agile teams)
Experience with root cause analysis
Experience using Lean or other Agile methods such as Kanban
Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server or similar tool
