GovCIO is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to lead RMF activities, including A&A across multiple systems, emphasizing emerging technologies like AI/ML platforms. The role requires extensive experience with NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 and CNSSI 1253, and mentorship to junior ISSO staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years information system security experience (or commensurate experience)
• 8–10+ years in an ISSO or cybersecurity compliance role with ISSO of record on assigned systems
• Demonstrated RMF assessments across multiple network environments
• Experience developing and maintaining RMF artifacts: SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, BOE
• Experience with microservices/distributed architectures and security assessments
• Proficiency with GRC platforms for A&A (JCAM/CSAM, Xacta)
• Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification
• DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 IAM Level II or III (CISSP, CISM, CASP+)
• Public Trust clearance ability

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of the RMF lifecycle across multiple systems and environments
• Develop and maintain RMF documents: SSPs, SARs, SAPs, POA&Ms, plans
• Conduct multiple concurrent RMF assessments
• Assess and authorize emerging tech systems and adapt baselines
• Manage evidence collection and BOE packages
• Establish system impact levels and perform PIAs/PTAs
• Review vulnerabilities and manage POA&M remediation
• Provide security reporting and dashboards to system owners
• Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, CNSSI 1253
• Manage workflow and tracking using JIRA
• Mentor junior ISSO staff and develop SOPs
• Collaborate with technical/non-technical teams to gather evidence
