Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an AI-forward patent prosecution leader to guide global IP strategy for its cloud-native cybersecurity platform.

Reporting to the VP of Legal, you will lead a team that partners closely with our technical leaders to identify mission-critical innovations, strengthen the company's global patent portfolio, oversee broader IP assets, and modernize IP operations through responsible use of AI.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active bar membership with USPTO eligibility.
• 15+ years of relevant IP experience, including management.
• Experience identifying and procuring patentable tech in software, SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity or AI.
• Experience managing global patent portfolios and jurisdictional strategies.
• Knowledge of trademark, copyright and trade secret law.
• Demonstrated AI fluency in legal/IP workflows and budgets.
• Proven ability to manage large budgets and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead global patent prosecution strategy aligned with product roadmap.
• Identify innovations with Product and Engineering partnership.
• Decide on filings, continuations, abandonments based on value and landscape.
• Use analytics to assess coverage, portfolio strength, and priorities.
• Manage trademark portfolio and clearance for new names and branding.
• Oversee renewals, watch services, and opposition/cancellation Proceedings.
• Advise on copyright ownership and protection for software and content.
• Develop copyright policies for employee works, open-source use, and third-party content.
• Provide strategic advice on trade secrets protection.
• Support IP licensing, M&A, and third-party demands; manage outside counsel.
• Manage IP dockets, budgets, and outside spend; oversee AI-enabled operations.
• Promote responsible AI adoption with quality controls and attorney oversight.
• Train teams and outside counsel on acceptable AI use; measure operating leverage.
