Job summary

Compass, Inc. is seeking an experienced iOS engineer to help build a platform that enhances home buying and selling experiences. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with Product and Design to deliver high-quality, scalable mobile applications.

You will guide architecture decisions, ensure code quality and testing rigor, and drive operational excellence across the team. This role emphasizes ownership and impact within a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional iOS development experience shipping to the App Store with Swift/SwiftUI.
• Ability to collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders to implement delightful solutions.
• Strong CS fundamentals and iOS design patterns/best practices.
• A design-sense and attention to detail that anticipates user needs.
• Experience leading projects, mentoring, and guiding junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Work in a startup-like environment building agile products and services.
• Collaborate with engineers, product and design to launch projects that solve real-world problems.
• Influence the roadmap with technical insights and propose architectural changes.
• Lead technical trade-offs and recommend solutions with pros/cons.
• Define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex projects, potentially guiding other engineers.
• Perform code reviews, design reviews, and write high-quality tests.
• Advocate for scalable, efficient engineering and strong operational excellence.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in engineering.
