Job summary

Compass, Inc. is seeking an experienced iOS engineer to lead in building a next-generation mobile platform for real estate professionals.

You will collaborate with product and design peers to translate requirements into scalable iOS solutions, mentor juniors, and shape the mobile architecture. You will influence the roadmap with practical trade-offs, maintain high code quality, and contribute to operational excellence post-launch.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional iOS development experience including SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency.
• Ability to collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders.
• Master Computer Science fundamentals and iOS design patterns.
• Excellent attention to detail to build delightful, context-aware apps.
• Experience leading projects end-to-end and mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience with AI tools.
• Experience integrating with RESTful services.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for mentoring and helping team members grow.

Responsibilities

• Work in a startup-like environment building agile products and services.
• Collaborate with engineers, product, and design to launch projects solving real-world problems.
• Influence the product roadmap with technical insights and architectural suggestions.
• Lead technical trade-offs and propose recommended solutions with pros and cons.
• Independently define and deliver complex projects, may lead other engineers.
• Perform code reviews, design reviews, and write high-quality tests.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, testing, monitoring, and runbooks.
• Become subject matter expert for one or more services.
• Create documentation including diagrams, service descriptions, and decisions.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve developer experience.
• Mentor junior engineers and grow their technical skills.
