Job summary

Compass, Inc. is seeking an experienced iOS engineer to lead and build a production-grade iOS platform. You will partner with Product and Design to translate requirements into robust mobile solutions, mentor junior engineers, and shape architectural decisions for scalable, high-quality apps.

You will drive end-to-end delivery, perform code/design reviews, ensure operational excellence, and continuously improve the platform based on user feedback and business needs.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional iOS development experience with production apps.
• Ability to collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders.
• Master CS fundamentals and iOS design patterns.
• Experience leading projects from planning to release; mentoring juniors.
• Experience with AI tools.
• Experience with RESTful server-side services.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Mentoring and helping junior engineers grow.

Responsibilities

• Work in a startup-like environment building agile products and services.
• Collaborate with engineers, product and design to launch projects that solve real-world problems.
• Influence product roadmap with technical insights and architecture changes.
• Guide team through technical trade-offs and propose optimal solutions.
• Independently define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex projects; may lead others.
• Perform code reviews, design reviews, and write high-quality tests.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, monitoring, and runbooks.
• Become subject matter expert for one or more services.
• Create clear documentation for diagrams, service descriptions and decisions.
• Identify bottlenecks to improve developer experience.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineers structurally.
