Job summary

U-Haul in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking an Inventory Control Manager to protect inventory accuracy across our multi-location retail network. This hands-on role owns the daily control loop for product families, coordinating with field operations, procurement, and home office to prevent stockouts and data errors.

You will lead exception triage, root-cause analysis, and replenishment planning, build scalable metrics, and enable 2,500 field locations with practical guidance and self-service tools.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in inventory control or multi-unit retail supply chain.
• Proven experience investigating discrepancies and driving corrective action.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to brief executives.
• High ownership, detail orientation, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily and periodic inventory exception reports; investigate material swings and variances by SKU and location/region.
• Drive root-cause analysis and assign owners and next steps until closed.
• Own product-level/min-max/safety-stock parameters and keep them current as rules change.
• Prepare and distribute inventory opening packets for new centers (plans, layouts, display/assortment files).
• Own and improve POS inventory management tools and BI reports to surface risk.
• Support approximately 2,500 field locations with practical guidance on inventory questions.
