Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a senior process leader within inventory accounting to own complex activities and ensure timely US GAAP/SOX reporting. You will lead month-end and year-end closes, prepare financial statements, and perform analyses to spot trends and risks.

You will drive improvements through ERP and Excel, lead cross-functional efforts, support audits, and translate data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
Master's degree or CPA license strongly preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and financial controls.
Experience with large ERP systems and complex financial analysis.
Retail inventory accounting experience preferred.
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, including complex formulas and automation tools.
Proven ability to lead projects and drive process improvements.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A team-first attitude; willingness to support various duties as needed.
