Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant - Inventory to ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions across Retail divisions in Springfield, MO. The role guides the inventory accounting team, develops cross-functional relationships, and researches complex inventory issues.

The position emphasizes close, reporting, and analysis of inventory and gross margin data, aligning with internal controls and GAAP while supporting system enhancements and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Close inventory sub-ledgers weekly and monthly, reconcile accounts and review exception reporting.
• Analyze gross margin and inventory data; produce variance analyses for leadership.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support inventory initiatives and internal controls.
