Academy Sports + Outdoors seeks a senior process leader in inventory accounting to own complex accounting activities, ensuring timely US GAAP and SOX compliant reporting, and leading month-end and year-end closes.

You will drive improvements with ERP and Excel, collaborate with Finance, General Accounting and Operations, and influence cross-functional projects without direct people management.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Master’s degree or CPA license strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and financial controls.
• Experience with large ERP systems and complex financial analysis.
• Retail inventory accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills including automation tools.
• Proven ability to lead projects and drive process improvements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A team-first attitude and willingness to step in where needed.

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements.
• Perform advanced analytical reviews to identify trends, anomalies, and risks in inventory balances.
• Drive continuous improvement through process enhancements and automation using ERP and Excel capabilities.
