Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a leader to guide the Structures & Mechanisms IPT for the Blue Ring spacecraft, focusing on structural integrity and dynamic analysis. You will recruit, mentor, and manage engineers across design, analysis, and loads & dynamics to meet program requirements.

Responsibilities include development of primary/secondary structures, loads modeling, and communication with program leadership on reviews and forecasts. A passion for reusable spaceflight and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years leading technical teams.
• 8+ years in structural analysis or loads & dynamics.
• Broad knowledge of space vehicle systems and how they affect design.
• Ability to build trust and foster inclusion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• U.S. citizen or eligible for U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and mentor a diverse team of engineers (design/analysis).
• Manage professional development, reviews, and promotions.
• Direct development of primary and secondary structures.
• Oversee structural loads for vehicle and payload development.
• Lead system and component loads modeling, sim, and verification.
• Guide FE model development and validation against data.
• Own program rhythm, reviews, forecasts, and deep dives.
• Develop and maintain product roadmaps with stakeholders.
