Job summary

Capital One is hiring an Insurance Risk - Principal Associate (Remote-Eligible) to review and enforce insurance requirements across loan files. You will analyze policies, waivers, and endorsements, and coordinate with borrowers, agents, and GSEs to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.

The role requires at least 5 years in commercial insurance risk, underwriting, or compliance, and preference for GSE multifamily loan experience and professional certifications (ARM/CPCU/CRM).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in insurance, focused on commercial risk, underwriting or compliance.
• 2+ years with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac Multifamily Loans preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or military experience; ARM/CPCU/CRM certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Review loan docs, third party docs and investor guidelines to identify insurance requirements and resolve non-compliance.
• Analyze certificates, binders, policies and endorsements for accuracy and sufficiency.
• Evaluate waivers and draft justifications for investor approval.
• Maintain deep knowledge of core coverages and articulate necessity of protectives.
• Coordinate with borrowers, agents, third-party providers and GSEs on insurance matters.
• Manage force-placed insurance processes and participate in audits.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve controls.
