Job summary

Capital One is seeking an Insurance Risk - Principal Associate (Remote-Eligible) to review loan documentation, analyze insurance policies, and manage waivers for multifamily and other assets. This role emphasizes compliance, risk assessment, and collaboration with borrowers, agents, and GSEs.

The position supports remote work with salary ranges listed per location; candidates should have 5+ years in insurance, and preferable ARM/CPCU/CRM certifications or a bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• At least 5 years in the insurance industry (commercial risk, underwriting, or compliance).
• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review loan docs, third-party docs, and investor guidelines to identify insurance requirements.
• Analyze certificates, binders, policies, and endorsements for accuracy.
• Draft comprehensive justifications for waivers for investor approval.
• Maintain understanding of core coverages (GL, Umbrella/Excess, Property) and explain their necessity.
• Coordinate with borrowers, agents, third-party providers and GSEs to guide insurance matters.
• Manage force-placed insurance processes and assist audits.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and strengthen controls.
