Job summary

Sompo in the United States is seeking a Senior Operations Analyst to join our Operations team in a role that focuses on strengthening control environments across insurance segments.

You will conduct operational reviews, analyze trends, and partner with stakeholders to drive corrective actions and improve efficiency.

This position is based in our offices in Purchase, NY; Charlotte, NC; Mt. Juliet, TN; or Morristown, NJ, with a collaborative, career‑oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in insurance operations, underwriting support, QA, audit or related.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct operational reviews, quality audits, and control self-assessments across insurance segments to evaluate adherence to policies and procedures and the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret operational data from multiple reporting sources to identify trends, quantify risks, detect emerging issues, and support strategic decision-making.
• Document findings, perform root cause analysis, develop clear recommendations, and partner with stakeholders to drive corrective actions and issue remediation through closure.
• Build effective partnerships across Operations, Underwriting, Technology, and business units to strengthen the control environment and communicate findings through concise, actionable reporting.
• Identify, recommend, and lead cross-functional process and technology enhancements that improve operational quality, efficiency, risk management, and control effectiveness.
• Serve as a subject matter expert during User Acceptance Testing, validating new system functionality affecting submissions, policy administration, premium reconciliation, and related operational processes.
