Job summary

Liberty Mutual Group seeks an experienced attorney to manage all phases of mid-to-high value litigation within insurance law. You will conduct in-depth legal research, draft precise pleadings, and lead settlement efforts while collaborating with Claims Representatives.

You will develop advanced strategies for discovery, investigation, and trial preparation, utilizing e-discovery tools and case management software to optimize workflows and cut costs.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Missouri bar in good standing; special licenses may be required for certain boards or federal courts.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful trial attorney experience, preferably in insurance law.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all phases of litigation involving claims of moderate to heavy value.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other documents.
• Lead settlement negotiations and participate in hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Develop, implement, and refine advanced legal strategies for discovery, investigation, and trial preparation.
• Employ e-discovery tools and case management systems to streamline workflows and reduce costs.
• Provide clear legal opinions and strategic advice to clients and Claims Representatives.
• Mentor junior attorneys and staff, elevating team performance.
• Ensure documents comply with laws, regulations, and MRPC.
