Job summary

ORIX USA Group is seeking an Insurance Compliance Associate Director to lead compliance operations for a commercial loan servicing portfolio, ensuring regulatory alignment and reducing risk. You will drive efficiency, develop teams, and translate complex insurance rules into scalable processes that protect lenders’ collateral.

The role requires leadership, strong judgment, and experience with investor guidelines (Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae) and servicing standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 6–10 years of experience in commercial insurance, loan servicing, or a related field.
• Advanced subject matter expertise in insurance coverages (Property, General Liability, Auto, Crime, Flood, Wind/Named Storm, Earthquake).
• Deep understanding of commercial loan servicing insurance requirements and investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA/HUD).
• Proven ability to independently assess and mitigate portfolio risk, ensuring compliance with servicing standards and regulatory expectations.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and developing talent, including coaching and performance management.
• Strong understanding of insurance market conditions and the ability to assess impact on portfolio risk and compliance strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead team execution by managing workloads and ensuring delivery against SLAs and performance metrics.
• Establish KPIs, quality control frameworks, and reporting for audits and readiness.
• Delegate effectively and empower direct reports with clear direction and accountability.
• Oversee portfolio risk management, including prioritization of high-risk items and escalation management.
• Lead and coordinate lender and investor audits, including remediation activities.
• Manage insurance compliance processes for portfolios with investor requirements (e.g., Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA/HUD).
• Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance coverage, servicing standards, and evolving market conditions.
• Drive policy, procedure, and operating model improvements for scalability and efficiency.
• Lead implementation of process improvements and automation in partnership with IT and product teams.
• Conduct training for new hires and ongoing development for team members.
• Provide coaching and performance management to direct reports.
• Maintain communication with team members for alignment and issue resolution.
• Partner with servicing, asset management, risk, and legal to address complex issues.
• Translate operational challenges into strategies to reduce risk and improve workflow.
• Contribute to enterprise-wide strategic initiatives representing insurance compliance.
• Develop testing plans for system enhancements, including UAT.
• Execute lender-placed insurance and remediation strategies.
• Manage loan requirements and reporting (e.g., ICT updates).
• Perform additional duties and lead special projects; travel up to 10%.
